A few days ago, a group entitled “Can this onion ring get more fans than Justin Bieber?” emerged from the depths of Facebook. Long story short, it did, accumulating over 1,622,000 fans in 5 days. Which kicked Justin Beibeibeibeiber’s 15 year old little butt. Pwned.

Recently, a malware attack has been spreading all over Facebook. It’s really easy to spot, but it’s dangerous, since the spyware can create false Facebook accounts to spread it even more. Here’s a picture of one of the fake profiles:



According to Mashable, “it means the hackers have figured out a way to endrun around the captcha system”. As you hopefully know, captcha is a way of ensuring the account creator is an actual person- and this could be bad news, not just for Facebook, but for the rest of the internet. Captcha has been cracked before, but on major sites like Facebook, MySpace, and other social networking spots, it could be utterly disastrous.
